Tell Me When To Go

  1. Open Reason
  2. If you don't see it, CREATE:Mixer 14:2
  3. Set Tempo to 107 BPM
  4. Create Redrum
  5. On the Redrum: click on the Folder on Sound 1
  6. Go to Reason Factory Sound Bank:Redrum Drum Kits: Xclusive Drums Sorted: 04_Claps
  7. Select Clp_Beltram and put it on BOXES 5 and 13
  8. On the Redrum: click on the Folder on Sound 2
  9. Go to Xclusive Drums Sorted: 01_Bass Drums
  10. Select BD_Heavy Dub and put it on BOXES 1,4,7,9,11, and 12.
  11. On the Redrum: click on the Folder on Sound 3
  12. Go to Xclusive Drums Sorted: 07_Perc-Hi
  13. Select Tmb_Chemical and put it on BOXES 9 and 13.
  14. SAVE YOUR BEAT AS Tell Me When To Go. On step 15 you will listen to the original Tell Me When To Go Beat that Lil Jon made.

  16. What do you notice that is different about your beat? What do you notice that is similar?
  17. Now in Pattern 2, make your own beat using the same sounds!
  18. SAVE YOUR WORK!

How To Change The Sounds In Your Redrum Drum Kit

Today we are going to learn how to change the sounds on the Redrum Drum Computer and then we will read and comment on an article about blogs.
  1. Open Reason. If there are a lot of things on the screen in reason, go to file & click new.
  2. If you don't see it, CREATE:Mixer 14:2
  3. Set Tempo to 110 BPM
  4. CREATE: Redrum
  5. On the Redrum, click on the FOLDER in the bottom left hand corner.
  6. From there click on the Reason Factory Sound Bank:Redrum Drum Kits:Abstract Hip Hop: Abstract Kit 1
  7. Push SELECT on Sound 2 (Sd_SoleSi). Click on Boxes 5 and 13.
  8. Push SELECT on Sound 5 (Bd_SoleSi). Click on Boxes 1,2,3,7,and 9.
  9. Push SELECT on Sound 10 (HH3_Soles). Click on Boxes 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.
  10. Push SELECT on Sound 4 (Rim_Soles). Click on Boxes 5, 13,and 15.
  11. SAVE YOUR BEAT IN YOUR FILE IN MY DOCUMENTS!!!!!!!
  12. Now select one of the sounds that you've programmed. Sound 2, 4, 5, OR 10.
  13. Click on the folder icon for the sound.
  14. Change the sound to a new sound (you can do this while the beat is playing)
  15. Change the sound for each sound that you've used (2,4,5, and 10)
  16. SAVE YOUR SONG!!!!!
  17. Now Click on Pattern 2 and create your own beat with a Clap or Snare, Bass Drum, Hi Hat, and One other sound.
  18. Remember! start with a Clap (clp) or Snare (sn) on boxes 5 and 13!
  19. And put your Bass Drum on 1 and a few other boxes.
  20. Put your Hi Hat (HH) anywhere.
  21. Put your Other Sound anywhere.
  22. SAVE YOUR BEAT IN YOUR FOLDER!!!!!!!

  1. Open Reason
  2. If you don't see a mixer: go to the CREATE menu and select a Mixer 14:2...remember, the Mixer 14:2 should always be the first thing you create!
  3. Set Tempo to 108 bpm
  4. CREATE: Redrum Drum Machine
  5. Click on the Folder Icon in the bottom left hand corner of the Redrum.
  6. From there click on the Reason Factory Sound Bank:Redrum Drum Kits:RnB Kits: RnB Kit 03
  7. Push SELECT on Sound 2. Click on Boxes 5 and 13
  8. Push SELECT on Sound 1. Click on Boxes 1, 4, 7 and 11.
  9. Push SELECT on Sound 3. Click on all the odd number boxes. (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15)
  10. Now Click on Pattern 2 and create your own beat with a Clap or Snare, Bass Drum, and Hi Hat.
  11. Remember start with a Clap (clp) or Snare (sn) on 5 and 13
  12. And put your Bass Drum (bd) on 1 and a few other boxes.
  13. Put your Hi Hat (HH) anywhere.
  14. Now let's save the beat.
  15. Go to the File menu and click SAVE AS.
  16. Save your beat in the folder you made yesterday.
  17. When the window pops up, click on My Documents.
  18. Name the beat (your name's) second beat.
  19. Click Save.

How to make a Redrum Drum Beat

  1. Open Reason
  2. If you don't see a mixer: go to the CREATE menu and select a Mixer 14:2
  3. Set Tempo to 98 bpm. You should see the tempo on the bottom of reason near the play button.
  4. CREATE: Redrum Drum Machine
  5. Click on the Folder Icon in the bottom right hand corner of the Redrum.
  6. From there click on the Reason Factory Sound Bank:Redrum Drum Kits:Hip Hop Kits: Hip Hop Kit 07
  7. Push SELECT on Sound 3. Click on Boxes 5 and 13
  8. Push SELECT on Sound 5. Click on Boxes 1 and 11
  9. Push SELECT on Sound 1. Click on all the boxes
  10. Congratulations! You have made your first beat!
  11. Now Click on Pattern 2 and create your own beat with a Clap or Snare, Bass Drum, and Hi Hat.
  12. Remember start with a Clap (clp) or Snare (sn) on 5 and 13
  13. And put your Bass Drum on 1 and a few other boxes (but not boxes 5 or 13).
  14. Put your Hi Hat (HH) anywhere.
  15. Now let's save the beat.
  16. Go to the File menu and click SAVE.
  17. When the window pops up, go to your folder you created that should have your name on it.
  18. This is where you're going to save your beats.
  19. Name the beat (your name's) first beat.
  20. Click Save.
  21. Now that you have made this drum beat, try to start a new drum beat with any tempo between 80-110bpm.
