Full Beat Quiz Prep

Today we are going to make our beats that we are going to use for our quiz this coming Thursday. Make sure that you follow these steps as close as possible!

1. Open Reason

2. Create an MClass Mastering Suite Combi

3. Create a Mixer 14:2

4. Set your tempo in between 70-110

5. Create a Redrum. Make a 32 step beat using a clap/snare, a bass drum, a hi hat, and a percussion. Set your "Right Loop Point" to R5. Copy your pattern to track, then click the "pattern" button.

6. Create a Combinator. Pick a Synth Poly of your choice.

7. When you are ready, record your melody. Quantize it, then use the Pencil tool to draw a box around your melody. This will make it easier when making a full beat.

8. Now create a synthesizer of your choice (a synthesizer is the NN19, NNXT, Subtractor, Malstrom, or Combinator). Record yourself playing in a 2nd melody. Don't forget to quantize it and draw a box around it.

9. Create a Dr. REX Loop Player. Load in a Dr. REX Percussion Loop and put it to track.

When you are finished, you should have a 32 step Redrum beat on the track, 2 melodies on the track, and 1 Dr. REX loop on the track. SAVE YOUR BEATS as (your name) full beat quiz. REMEMBER: THIS IS THE BEAT YOU ARE USING FOR THE QUIZ ON THURSDAY!
